TWO IN FIVE CANADIANS – parents, children and friends – will be diagnosed with cancer. It is a disease that touches each of our lives. But thanks to the support of our donors, the Canadian Cancer Society has more impact against more cancers in more communities than any other cancer charity in Canada.
By funding lifesaving research, the Canadian Cancer Society is fighting cancer in communities like yours. Canada's best researchers are working hard every day to make a real impact against cancer. In Ontario, the Society is currently funding 33 clinical trials and 106 research grants.*
"Canadian Cancer Society-funded researchers have made tremendous gains, particularly in clinical trials," says Dr. Christine Williams, Vice-President, Research, Canadian Cancer Society. "Research advances in Ontario and across the country are impacting the lives of people living with cancer, their families and caregivers."
Last year, the Ontario Division of the Canadian Cancer Society invested $23.6 million in research that could save lives, find ways to prevent cancer and create more effective ways to treat the disease.
