When will I receive my ticket?

Upon receipt and/or authorization of payment, you should receive your ticket within 2 to 3 weeks. If you have not received your ticket(s) within that time frame, please contact the customer service line at 1 866 727-2024 for a replacement ticket(s).

Can I buy a ticket if I live outside of Ontario?

While a buyer may reside outside of Ontario, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario rules state that the buyer must be physically in Ontario when purchasing a ticket.

What are the guidelines for purchasing bundles of tickets (3 for $250 and 5 for $375)?

The guidelines for purchasing ticket bundles are as follows:

  • Only one method of payment
  • Only one envelope will be mailed containing all of the tickets
  • Up to three names may be recorded on all tickets within a bundle; all tickets within a bundle must contain the same information and will be sent to the same address

Tickets are sold in sequential order; therefore, all bundled tickets numbers will be sequentially numbered.

How are the proceeds of this Lottery used?

The Canadian Cancer Society dedicates 100% of the net Lottery proceeds to research into all types of cancer, which benefits people all across Ontario. Please refer to the Your Money at Work page.

Is my purchase of a Lottery ticket tax deductible?

The Canada Revenue Agency guidelines state that we are not able to issue tax receipts for the purchase of lottery tickets, since purchasing a ticket gives the purchaser the opportunity to win a prize. You CAN make a donation in addition to your ticket request and receive a tax receipt for the donation portion of your order.

Are Lottery winnings taxable?

Lottery winnings are considered a windfall and are currently not taxable in Canada.

If I win a car, can I accept the cash value instead?

Yes. All vehicle cash outs of are based on 93% of the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price exclusive of taxes and destination charges. For a complete list of car cash out values please refer to the Rules and Regulations.

If I win a Grand Prize, can I accept the cash value instead?

Yes. The cash out alternatives, including the $10,000 cash are as follows:

  • Grand Prize 1: Cash Prize of $1 million.
  • Grand Prize 2: Cash Prize of $1 million.
  • Grand Prize 3: Cash Prize of $1 million.
  • Grand Prize 4: 2013 Lincoln MKS, 2013 Lincoln MKT & $10,000 Cash = $101,000.50
  • Grand Prize 5: 2013 Mercedes-Benz GLK 350 4MATIC, 2013 Mercedes-Benz C 250 & $10,000 CASH = $91,979.50
  • Grand Prize 6: 2013 Audi Q5, 2013 Audi A3 & $10,000 Cash = $90,648.00
  • Grand Prize 7: 2013 BMW 128i Cabriolet, 2013 BMW X1 xDrive28i & $10,000 Cash = $89,561.50
  • Grand Prize 8: 2013 Cadillac ATS, 2013 Cadillac SRX & $10,000 Cash = $89,944.20

How old do you have to be to purchase a ticket?

You must be at least 18 years old at the time of ordering. Tickets cannot be purchased in the name of a minor.

I bought a ticket for the 2012 Fall Lottery, or the 2012 Daffodil Daily Lottery, how do I find out if my ticket won a prize?

All winners would have been notified by mail, but if you'd like to check your ticket, please click here for the 2012 Fall Lottery and here for the 2012 Daffodil Daily Lottery.

I've misplaced my ticket for the Lottery. If my name is drawn, will I be able to collect my prize without producing my ticket?

Personal identification will be required to collect your prize. Your ticket is not required. If your name is drawn, you will receive a notification letter outlining the prize redemption process.

How will I know if I have won?

All prize winners will be notified by mail and many will also be contacted by telephone. All prize winners will be published in the Toronto Star and on the Canadian Cancer Society website (www.lottery.cancer.ca) on Friday, May 17, 2013.

How do I claim my prize?

You will receive a letter providing you with the exact details of how to claim your prize. If you have not received this letter by May 17, 2013, please contact customer service at 1 866 727-2024 or (416) 736-8417 in Toronto.

If I win the Early Bonus Prize or one of the Early Bird Prizes, do I still qualify for other prize draws?

Every winning ticket goes back into the drum, so you can win more than once.

I bought a ticket for the Lottery, but I've never received it. Am I entered in the draw?

Everyone who purchases a ticket has their name entered in the draw, even if they have not received their ticket. If you have not received a ticket within three weeks of ordering, please contact customer service at 1 866 727-2024. They will confirm your purchase and send a replacement ticket at your request.

Can Canadian Cancer Society Lottery tickets be ordered over the internet?

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario has revised their regulations, which govern charitable lotteries, to allow for online ticket orders. Online ticket orders are processed through MiraTel Solutions Inc. via a secure online site.

I am trying to order my ticket online and the order will not go through.

You must be in Ontario to purchase a ticket. Some internet providers, although servicing Ontario, are not registered in Ontario. This may cause an error message when processing your order. If you are in Ontario and unable to order online, please call 866 727-2024 or (416) 736-8417 and they will be happy to assist you with your order.

How many tickets are being sold?

Only 220,000 tickets will be offered in this Lottery.

Who cannot purchase a ticket?

Members of the Canadian Cancer Society, Ontario Division Provincial Board of Directors, employees of the Canadian Cancer Society, Ontario Division and registered gaming suppliers.

Can I cancel my ticket and get a refund?

Only tickets cancelled before the draws begin will receive a refund for the amount that was paid for the ticket. Once the draws have begun, no refunds will be permitted.

What are the odds of winning in this lottery?

This lottery does not present the same kind of ‘odds’ that other lotteries promote. Rather than offer thousands of low value prizes and only a couple of high value ones, we offer ONLY big prizes and we offer MORE high value prizes than any other charity lottery. In fact, this lottery provides Ontarians with: the ‘best chance to win a big prize’, the ‘best chance to win a car’ and the ‘best chance to win $1,000,000.
